Summary

Fine Italian craftsmanship, over 75 years of GT heritage modernised, the all-new Maserati GranTurismo (second-gen - M189), launched in Malaysia.

Naza Italia (Maserati Malaysia), offers the fully-imported (CBU - Italy) sports coupe in two variants (Modena - base-range, Trofeo - top-range).

Prices (exclude - duties, taxes, customisations) starts at MYR 738,800 and MYR 878,800. Included is a three-year and unlimited-mileage warranty.

As per other Maserati models, it comes with a myriad of customisation options that will be factored into the final price.

Note: A Folgore variant (all-electric) of the GranTurismo is set to make its debut later in Q4 (quarter-four) this year.

Interior

Dashboard

The all-new GranTurismo has an elegantly futuristic and highly premium designed cockpit, with elements inherited from the Grecale.

Soft- and hard-touch materials, upholsteries and panelling are in a variety of materials and hues (Natural Leather, Open Pore-Wood, Alcantara, Carbon Fibre, ECONYL Regenerative Fibres).

Silver trims and other details are also present, such as the Trident-badged steering wheel, and knurling on the dials, resembling that of luxury watches.

Centre-staged are the three large screen setups and the analogue-esque digital clock (touchscreen - compass, G-force metre, voice command visual response).

Overall, with a near-symmetrical layout, every accessibility on the dash is user-friendly and driver-oriented.

Instrument Cluster

Installed is a 12.2-Inch TFT colour digital instrument cluster with an optional head-up display (HUD), and a digital interior rear-view mirror (camera live feed).

Setup runs on the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) system, with selectable customisations (four layouts, drive modes, vehicle settings, safety warnings, navigation).

Seats

The four-seater (2+2) is upholstered in hand-stitched leather (multi-trim options) with contrast stitching, featuring an embossed Maserati logo on the headrests.

Premium and comfortable, the seats feature electronic adjustments (front - multi-way, driver height), heating/ventilating functions, and foldable rear seats.

Space

Considering it to be a two-door cabin, its athletically sculpted silhouette offers sufficient head, shoulder and leg rooms, although the rear is a bit snug.

Steering Functions

Mounted is a three-spoke sports steering wheel (Trident-badged), finished in leather with silver details (trim option dependent).

Features are multi-switches (engine Start/Stop, drive mode selector, ADAS configurator, Media), aluminium paddle shifters, and column adjustments (tilt, telescopic).

Storage Space

The full-width centre console (front, rear), free of buttons and gear lever, makes room for an armrest with caverned storage and a cubby with double-butterfly doors.

Other storage areas include side door pockets, seat back pockets, and a decent-sized glove box.

Cup Holders

Provided are four cup holders, two located at the front centre console, while another two at the rear.

Charging Ports

Multiple charging outlets. E.g., wireless charger, and USB/12 V charging ports, which are all located at the centre console’s dedicated charging compartment.

Boot Space

Accessing its powered-tailgate (hands-free, key fob), opens up to 310-Litres of load capacity.

Exterior

Body Dimensions

Weighing in at 1,795 KG, the all-new GranTurismo stands at 4,969 MM long, 2,113 MM wide, 1,353 MM tall, and with a wheelbase spanning 2,929 MM.

Front View

Aerodynamically muscular, its exterior parades a typical GT silhouette, with a long and low-slung front-end.

Featured is a new ‘Cofango’ design element, sculpting seamlessly the bonnet with the fenders, creating a unified flow.

The sides are with Maserati’s signature three-piece air-vents, and the front with Maserati’s Trident-badged concave grille.

Filling-in the layout, the bumper sees a full-width air-intake with mesh inserts. Discerning elements are the trims (Gloss Black - Modena, Carbon Fibre - Trofeo).

Rear View

Sporty and elegant, the short-hanged rear-end is smoothly sculpted with a coupe-esque roofline, emphasising the Trident-badged rear pillar.

Featured is a shark fin antenna, a spoiler-delete boot (Modena) and a boot-lid spoiler (Trofeo), underscored by the ‘Maserati’ script.

Paired to the layout is a bumper-integrated dual chrome-plated exhausts and diffuser. Discerning elements are the trims (Gloss Black - Modena, Carbon Fibre - Trofeo).

Headlamps

Angular and focused, the headlamps are a design signature derived from the MC20 super sports car.

Installed are full LED units with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and automatic On/Off and adjustable functions.

Tail Lamps

Sleek and refined, the tail lamps are of a new design integrated seamlessly with the exterior’s clean lines.

Installed are full LED units, featuring Maserati’s signature boomerang- and harpoon-shaped light graphics.

Side Mirror

Two-toned (top - body-coloured, bottom - black), the side mirrors are electronic-powered (auto-fold, adjust), with blind spot-indicators and an automatic-dimming function.

Brakes

Fitted are Brembo brakes with 380 MM (front - six-piston) and 350 MM (rear - four-piston) discs, featuring callipers in Matte Black (Modena) and Red (Trofeo).

Wheels

A staggered setup, mounted are 20-Inch (front) and 21-Inch (rear), Crio Design Diamond Cut Gloss Black (Modena) and Pegaso Design Gloss Black Forged (Trofeo) alloy rims.

Active Safety

The all-new GranTurismo gets an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite comprising of Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA), Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop/Go (ACC), Active Lane Management (ALM), Blind Spot Assist (BSA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Keeping Warning (LKW), Active Driving Assist (ADA), and Traffic Sign Information (TSI).
