Zeekr 7X

The Zeekr 7X is a five-seat premium electric SUV offered in Malaysia in three regular variants: RWD Standard at RM182,800, RWD Long Range at RM193,800 and AWD Performance at RM230,800 before registration-related charges. For individual registration in Peninsular Malaysia, the corresponding official on-the-road prices without insurance are RM184,175, RM195,175 and RM233,340.

A limited Zeekr 7X Black Nova joined the range in August 2026. Based on the AWD Performance and limited to 200 units, it costs RM235,000 and adds an all-black exterior, black 20-inch wheels and an exclusive Black & Grey cabin. All versions receive a five-year/150,000-KM vehicle warranty and eight-year/160,000-KM high-voltage component warranty. 

The minimalist dashboard combines a 13.02-inch digital instrument display with a 16-inch 3.5K Mini-LED central touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 automotive platform. Higher variants also receive a 36.21-inch augmented-reality head-up display. 

A raised centre console integrates storage, controls and smartphone areas while retaining substantial open space around the cabin. Zeekr lists a total of 36 storage areas throughout the interior, including compartments beneath the rear bench. 

A 13.02-inch high-definition digital cockpit display is standard across all three variants. The Long Range and Performance additionally receive the 36.21-inch AR head-up display, while the Standard does without it.

The RWD Standard and Long Range use leatherette upholstery, while the AWD Performance receives Nappa full-grain top-layer leather. Standard and Long Range models provide 14-way powered adjustment for the driver and 10-way for the passenger, while the Performance upgrades both front seats to 14-way adjustment.

Front-seat memory is standard throughout. Ventilation and massage are added on the Long Range and Performance, while the Performance additionally receives powered rear side-window sunshades.

The 2,900-MM wheelbase and flat electric-vehicle platform provide generous accommodation for five passengers. Rear occupants receive electrically adjustable backrests with 10 degrees of powered recline across all Malaysian variants. 

A leather multifunction steering wheel is standard. The RWD Standard uses manual steering-column adjustment, while the RWD Long Range and AWD Performance upgrade to powered steering adjustment.

Zeekr provides 36 individual storage areas, including conventional door and console compartments and additional storage beneath the rear seats. A separate front boot provides up to 62 litres of capacity. 

Cup holders are incorporated into the centre-console arrangement, with additional drink storage available for rear passengers. The cabin’s extensive storage layout is designed to keep smaller personal items away from the main passenger and luggage areas.

The RWD Long Range and AWD Performance feature dual 50-W wireless smartphone charging pads, while these are omitted from the Standard. The current Malaysian brochure does not specify the exact number of USB ports. 

Soft-touch surfaces, extensive ambient lighting and a clean horizontal dashboard give the 7X a noticeably premium cabin presentation. The Performance further improves the experience with Nappa leather, powered doors and rear sunshades, while the latest Black Nova adds an exclusive Black & Grey two-tone interior.

Local launch specifications list approximately 539 litres of conventional rear luggage capacity, expanding to as much as 1,978 litres with the rear seats folded. A separate front compartment adds up to 62 litres. 

The Malaysian-spec 7X measures 4,787 MM long, 1,930 MM wide and 1,650 MM tall, with a 2,900-MM wheelbase. Its kerb-to-kerb turning circle is 11.6 metres. 

The 7X uses Zeekr’s clean “Hidden Energy” design language with a largely closed front fascia and slim lighting elements. The AWD Performance adds the Zeekr Stargate Integrated Smart Light Curtain, using 1,831 LEDs across the upper front panel for configurable lighting graphics. 

The rear has a broad shoulder line, roof spoiler and slim full-width lighting treatment. A powered tailgate with adjustable opening-angle memory is standard across the Malaysian range.

LED headlamps and LED daytime-running lights are standard on all variants. The AWD Performance’s Stargate lighting panel provides an additional illuminated front signature above the conventional lamps. 

Full-LED tail lamps are standard across the range, together with dynamic running turn-signal functionality. Their slim horizontal layout emphasises the SUV’s 1,930-MM width. 

Frameless exterior mirrors feature heating, electrical adjustment, power folding, memory and automatic reverse-angle adjustment as standard. The doors themselves are frameless with concealed handles, while full sensor-assisted powered doors are reserved for the AWD Performance. 

All variants use Zeekr’s IPB intelligent integrated braking system with regenerative braking. The AWD Performance upgrades the front brakes with distinctive orange Akebono four-piston calipers, matching its higher-output powertrain. 

The RWD Standard and RWD Long Range ride on 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the AWD Performance receives 20-inch multi-spoke wheels. Optional 21-inch forged wheels are available exclusively for the Performance at RM14,800.

The Black Nova retains the Performance specification but receives unique black-finished 20-inch wheels.

All variants receive the same extensive active-safety package, including autonomous emergency braking, forward-collision warning and mitigation, pedestrian emergency braking, front and rear cross-traffic assistance, blind-spot detection, Door Open Warning and rear-collision mitigation.

Seven airbags are standard, supported by a one-piece die-cast rear aluminium structure and a body using 83.3% high-strength steel and aluminium alloy. The 7X also achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The current Malaysian brochure does not specify individual drive-mode names. All variants feature regenerative braking, while the AWD Performance adds the most significant chassis adjustability through its single-chamber air suspension and Continuous Control Damping system. 

The 16-inch 3.5K Mini-LED touchscreen runs on the Qualcomm 8295 computing platform and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four-zone voice commands and over-the-air software updates. 

The driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with Lane Centering Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Emergency Lane Departure Correction and automatic lane changing with indicator input.

Automatic Parking Assist, Driver Performance Monitoring, hands-off detection, a 360-degree camera with transparent-chassis view and Sentry Mode are also standard across all three Malaysian variants. 

The RWD Standard receives a 10-speaker Zeekr Sound system. RWD Long Range and AWD Performance upgrade to Zeekr Sound Pro with 21 speakers and a 7.1.4-channel layout, including dedicated driver-headrest speakers. 

The RWD Standard and RWD Long Range use a single rear-mounted silicon-carbide permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing 310 KW or 421 PS and 440 NM.

The AWD Performance adds a front motor for a combined 475 KW or 646 PS and 710 NM. The limited Black Nova uses the same dual-motor powertrain. 

Power is delivered through single-ratio electric reduction gearing, with the RWD versions driving the rear axle and the Performance using one motor on each axle.

The Standard and Long Range are rear-wheel drive, while the Performance uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. The latter combines a front asynchronous motor with a rear silicon-carbide permanent-magnet motor. 

Both RWD variants accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in 6.0 seconds. The AWD Performance reduces this to just 3.8 seconds. 

The RWD Standard uses a 75-kWh LFP Golden Brick battery and offers 480 KM of WLTP range. Its 800V architecture supports 22-KW AC charging and up to 450-KW DC charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 10.5 minutes.

The RWD Long Range uses a 100-kWh NCM Qilin battery, increasing WLTP range to 615 KM. The AWD Performance uses the same battery but returns 543 KM WLTP because of its higher power and dual-motor drivetrain. Both support 22-KW AC and 420-KW DC charging, with a 10% to 80% DC charge taking approximately 16 minutes.

All variants provide 3.3-KW Vehicle-to-Load functionality. AC charging from 10% to 100% takes around 4.5 hours for the Standard and 5.5 hours for the two 100-kWh variants when using a 22-KW source.

Standard convenience equipment includes a powered tailgate with opening-angle memory, panoramic glass roof with powered sunshade, rain-sensing wipers, powered front seats and electrically reclining rear seats.

The Performance adds sensor-assisted automatic doors and rear power sunshades, while the Long Range and Performance gain powered steering adjustment, seat massage and ventilation, dual wireless charging and the AR head-up display.

A three-zone climate-control system is standard across the entire range, with dedicated rear air vents and rear climate controls for second-row passengers. 

Every 7X uses double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension. The RWD variants use conventional suspension, while the AWD Performance receives Zeekr’s Magic Carpet single-chamber air suspension with Continuous Control Damping.

Malaysian road testing found the Performance to favour a comfort-oriented setup, filtering smaller imperfections effectively while maintaining predictable body control despite its considerable performance.

The quiet EV powertrain, premium cabin materials and suspension tuning give the 7X strong refinement at urban and highway speeds. Local testing also found its highway noise isolation to be appropriate for its premium positioning.

The Zeekr 7X combines unusually fast charging, generous cabin equipment and strong performance with pricing that remains below many traditional premium electric SUVs. The RWD Long Range is arguably the strongest all-rounder, pairing 615 KM of WLTP range with the AR head-up display, ventilated and massaging seats, 21-speaker audio and 22-KW AC charging.

The RWD Standard still provides 421 PS, 480 KM of range and class-leading 450-KW peak DC charging for considerably less money. At the opposite end, the AWD Performance adds 646 PS, 3.8-second acceleration, air suspension, powered doors, Nappa leather and the Stargate light panel, making it the most complete version.

Its main compromises are that many of the most desirable luxury features are reserved for the upper variants, while accessing its headline 420-450-KW charging speeds requires extremely high-output DC chargers. Overall, the 7X remains a particularly strong combination of performance, range, space and premium equipment in Malaysia’s electric-SUV segment.
