Zeekr 009

Long-awaited and highly anticipated, Zeekr’s one of two (Zeekr 009) first local offerings, the Zeekr 009, officially launched in Malaysia.

A Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the luxury MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) comes in two seating configurations (layout – seven-seater, six-seater).

Fully imported (CBU – China), available via Zeekr Malaysia (VCM) are three variants (Executive – MYR 310,000, Luxury – MYR 349,800, Ultra-Luxury – MYR 359,800).

Prices (OTR, w/o insurance) cover a vehicle warranty (five years/150,000 KM), an EV battery warranty (eight years/160,000 KM) and connected services (free - two years).

Included is an Early Bird Package (first 500 units: AC home charger, portable charger, solar window film, glass roof sunshade, Executive – introductory price).

Exterior colours (single-tone: Phantom Black, Crystal White, Mineral Green). Interior colours (single-tone: Stone Black – dual-tone: Stone Grey-Polar White, Midnight Blue-Polar-White).

The all-new Zeekr 009 has a minimalistic (buttonless) and tiered dashboard, linked to a high-rising-floating-wide (island-style – armrest, storage) centre console.

Soft-/hard-touched (dash, steering wheel, centre console, door panels), it sees Nappa leather-Ultrasuede (dash, headliner) upholstery, in three (single-tone: Stone Black – dual-tone: Stone Grey-Polar White, Midnight Blue-Polar-White) colour schemes.

Accentuating the layout are contrast trims (Chrome: dash, steering wheel, centre console, door cards – Black-star-pattern: centre-dash panel) and an Intelligent ambient light system (multi-colour – rhythmic).

Centre-staged is the floating central display (infotainment), flanked by the dash-integrated driver display (instrument cluster) and filling-up the space are slim air-conditioning vents (hidden – centre-dash).

Inclusively, the design is airy and non-cluttered, with accessibilities purposefully arranged (driver-oriented, user-friendly).

Making-up the ‘Intelligent Cockpit’ (Qualcomm SA8295P Snapdragon Systems-on-Chips - SoC), installed is a 10.25-Inch HD LCD driver display (instrument cluster), with a 39.95-Inch Augmented Reality (AR) Heads-Up Display (AR-HUD).

Comfortable, the interior sees two seating configurations (seven-seater, six-seater) with variant-specific layouts (2-2-3: Executive, Luxury – 2-2-2: Ultra-Luxury).

Upholstery is in Nappa leather-Ultrasuede (rebound sponge – seats), with three (single-tone: Stone Black – dual-tone: Stone Grey-Polar White, Midnight Blue-Polar-White) colour schemes.

The first row gets electric-powered (driver/passenger: 12-way, height, recline, reach, tilt, lumbar, driver-memory, massage, ventilation) ergonomic seats.

The second row gets electric-powered (multi-way, four-way ottoman, front cushion support, massage, ventilation, memory, first row-adjust) captain seats (standard: Executive, Luxury – Sofaro First-Class Aeronautic: Ultra-Luxury).

The third row gets a manual-operated (button: one-touch easy entry/exit, 180-degree recline – Ultra-Luxury, 60:40/50:50 split-fold – Executive, Luxury/Ultra-Luxury) bench (three-seater: Executive, Luxury – two-seater: Ultra-Luxury).

Included are headrests (first row, second row – side support, third-row), armrests (first row – centre console, second row – wide, button adjust, third row – side panels), side table (second row – Nappa leather, infinite-angle-adjust – Ultra-Luxury), refrigerator (second-row – 8.6-Litre – cooling/heating), a panoramic glass sunroof (electric – tilt/slide, dark tint, heat/UV protect, sunshade) and textile floor mats (Black).

A people mover (MPV), the cabin (seven-seater, six-seater) offers generous space, providing ample interior mobility for the occupants (first, second, third row).

Sufficient head, shoulder and leg rooms.

Mounted is a three-spoke-flat-top-bottom steering wheel, wrapped in Nappa leather (dual-tone – interior colour dependent) with contrast trims (Chrome).

Features are multi-function (Bluetooth, Media, Voice Recognition, Vehicle settings) and column adjustments (manual: tilt, telescopic – Executive/electric: tilt, telescopic, ID memory – Luxury, Ultra-Luxury).

Drive is aided by an Electric Power Steering (EPS – speed adjustable) system (turning radius – 6.2 M).

Practical storage areas. E.g., side door/seat back pockets, centre console partitioned/caverned/retractable/under-stowage spaces, a glove box, refrigerator (8.6-Litre – cooling/heating) and a hidden boot space (under-boot floor).

Provided are four cup holders (two – first, second row) and six bottle holders (two – first, second, third row).

Multiple power outlets. E.g., nine USB ports (three – first row, four – second row, two – third row), two 12 V sockets (first row, boot) and one wireless charger (first row).

Included is a Vehicle-To-Load (V2L – 3.3 KW) charging function, for powering of external appliances.

Accessing its electric-powered (contactless: remote/key fob, button, sensor, height adjustment, memory) tailgate, opens to 574-Litres (first, second, third row seats up) and 2,979-Litres (second, third row seats down) of load capacities.

Weighing in at 2,870 KG (Executive, Luxury, Ultra-Luxury), the all-new Zeekr 009 measures at 5,209 MM in length, 2,024 MM in width, 1,812 MM in height and with a wheelbase spanning 3,205 MM.

Electrifyingly elegant, it parades a largely boxy exterior, emphasised by symmetrically cut and roundly angular surfaces.

The front-end sees a moulded-bonnet (Zeekr X emblem), angular quarter panels and an upright bumper (grille-like vertical bars, corner/central-lower intakes).

Accentuations, body trimmings (Black: intakes, side mirror arms, body pillars – Chrome: bumper, vertical bars, side sills, window surrounds) and Zeekr X emblem (Chrome).

Cleanly elegant, it continues the largely boxy profile, emphasised by cleanly cut surfaces and horizontally symmetrical lines.

The rear-end sees a straight-cut roofline, a roof-edge spoiler, tapered quarter panels, an upright tailgate (Zeekr script – illuminated) and a covered bumper (exhaust-deleted).

Accentuations, body trimmings (Black: bumper, bottom-section spoiler, body pillars – Chrome: bumper, side sills, window surrounds) and 009 emblem (Chrome).

Unique, the split (top – DRLs, bottom – main) headlamps are framed, slim and elongated. Installed are Intelligent Matrix LED units.

Features are inverted-U Daytime Running Lights (DRL – LED), automatic On/Off/high-/low-beam/cornering, Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) with Intelligent Zoning Lights, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), welcome lights and sequential turn signals (LED).

Three-dimensional (3D), the body-integrated tail lamps are framed full-width (lightbar) and slim with wrapped-around outer-edges. Installed are full LED units.

Features are automatic On/Off, welcome lights, and sequential turn signals (fluid-type). Paired to the setup is a high-mounted stop light (spoiler-integrated).

The side mirrors (dual-tone – Black-body-colour) are electric-powered (auto-fold, adjust) with sequential turn signals, blind-spot indicators (Blind Spot Detection – BSD), reverse-dipping, heating and memory.

Installed is a set of ventilated (front, rear) disc brakes and the drive is aided by an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold system. 

Included is a regenerative braking (One-Pedal-Drive) system, a CST Comfort Braking System and an iBooster 2.0 Electronic Power Braking System.

Mounted is a set of 19-Inch (Executive, Luxury, Ultra Luxury) Starlight Aero (dual-tone – Black-Silver, Diamond-cut) alloy rims, wrapped in 255/50 R19 (front, rear) Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres.

The all-new Zeekr 009 gets the following suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Grouped are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Lane Change (ALC), Lane Centring Control (LCC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Front Collision Mitigation Support (FCMS), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Door Opening Warning (DOW), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Speeding Reminder (SR), Capacitive Steering Wheel Hands-Off Monitoring (CSWHM), Automated Parking Assist (APA), Parking Emergency Brake (PEB), Around View Monitor (AVM – 360-degree, transparent chassis) and Driver Performance Monitor (DPM).

Completing the ‘Intelligent Cockpit’ (Qualcomm SA8295P Snapdragon Systems-on-Chips - SoC), installed is a 15.05-Inch OLED CSD touchscreen central display (infotainment, control unit). 

Included is a 17-Inch OLED screen (roof-mounted – remote control – second row), ‘Smartbar’ screen (door-mounted – control panel – second row) and High-Definition (HD) camera (second row – video calls, rear monitoring).

The system supports Apple CarPlay (wireless), media, live navigation, Bluetooth, 5G/WiFi/WiFi hotspot, face recognition, voice assistant (‘Intelligent’ AI assistant – “Hi Zeekr’), ‘Intelligent’ scene modes, mobile app remote control (Zeekr App), app store and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.

Entertainment is channelled via a YAMAHA Surround Stereo premium audio system (30 speakers – eight headrest speakers).

The all-new Zeekr 009 (Executive, Luxury, Ultra-Luxury) underpins variant-specific e-powertrains (BEV).

Nestled (Executive) is a single-electric motor (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor – PMSM) setup (front-mounted), generating 250 KW (335 HP) and 373 NM.

Fused (Luxury, Ultra-Luxury) is a dual-electric motor (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor – PMSM) setup (front-rear-mounted), generating 450 KW (603 HP) and 693 NM.

Merged to the setup is a single-speed automatic transmission.

Power is transmitted to the front wheels (Executive) and all four wheels (Luxury, Ultra-Luxury), via a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

0 to 100 KM/H acceleration is done in 7.9 seconds (Executive) and 4.5 seconds (Luxury, Ultra-Luxury). Top speed is electronically capped at 210 KM/H (Executive, Luxury, Ultra-Luxury).

Juicing-up the e-motors (Executive, Luxury, Ultra Luxury) is a Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery pack (116 KWH – 400 V), providing a pure electric driving range (WLTP) of 604 KM (Executive) and 582 KM (Luxury, Ultra-Luxury).

AC charging (Type 2 – 11 KW), takes 13.5 hours for a 0% to 100% State of Charge (SoC). DC charging (CCS2 – 150 KW), takes 30 minutes for a 10% to 80% SoC.

Included is a Vehicle-To-Load (V2L – 3.3 KW) charging function, for powering of external appliances.

Good sound insulation, covering all the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) aspects. The cabin is serene, with the tyre, road and wind noises mostly hindered. 

Included are CCD Electromagnetic Vibration Reduction System and acoustic glasses (front windscreen, rear side windows).

The all-new Zeekr 009 exudes an electrifyingly modern outlook. Its elegantly boxy and symmetrically seamless body contours just speak electric.

Interior wise, its shell envelopes a tech savvy cockpit, featuring advanced connectivity, safety systems and creature comfort features.

Ultimately, the build quality is excellent, and with its distinctive outlook and energising powertrain, the all-new Zeekr 009 is surely an e-MPV to consider.
