Aston Martin DBX707 lands in Malaysia - from RM1.1 million*

The local luxury performance SUV space sees a new addition today following the arrival of the Aston Martin DBX707. The model was launched earlier today by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur (Wearnes Quest Sdn Bhd) at its flagship showroom in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Based on Aston Martin’s groundbreaking DBX SUV model, the DBX707 takes things up a few notches, most notably being its uprated powertrain, chassis and aerodynamics. The result is Aston Martin laying claim that the DBX707 is the world’s most powerful luxury SUV, and its spec sheet backs this claim up well.

Under the hood, it’s the same 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo as seen in the base DBX, but it has been fettled to output 707 PS (697 hp) and 900 Nm as opposed to the 550 ps (542 hp) and 700 Nm that the base DBX boasts. On top of this, the mill also benefits with a new exhaust tuning that enhances both performance and soundtrack.
Said mill is paired with a specially-tuned 9-speed wet clutch automatic box, plus an all-wheel-drive (AWD) suite, granting 0-100 kmh in just 3.3 seconds and a claimed top speed of 310 kmh - significantly quicker than the base DBX’s 4.5 seconds 0-100 kmh time and 292 kmh top speed figures.

Other key improvements present include the adoption of a carbon propshaft, uprated electronic differential, recalibrated active suspension with new damper valving, the inclusion of massive carbon ceramic brakes (420mm up front and 390mm at the rear), as well as uprated aerodynamics.

Visually, the DBX707 is easily set apart by its more distinct front fascia, which sports a larger grille with redesigned intakes plus new horizontal LED DRLs too. The same can be said about the rear fascia, which sports enhanced aerodynamic bits such as a new rear roof spoiler and twin rear diffuser design.

On board, Aston Martin have laced the DBX707’s cabin with a myriad of sport trims and accents. Highlights include sports seats, dark chrome switchgear accents, satin black trims, as well as a piano black veneer wood trims as standard. Both aluminium and carbon fibre cabin trims options are also available.
Apart from the myriad of options it already exists, purveyors wishing to personalise their DBX707 further will be glad to know that the Q by Aston Martin bespoke personalisation services are also available for this model.
Open for orders through Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, the DBX707 commands a base retail price of RM1,098,000 excluding options, duties, taxes, and on-road costs.
So what do you folks think folks? Keen on Aston Martin’s take on the super-SUV genre? Or do you still prefer its German and Italian rivals better? Hit the comments below with your thoughts…
