Malaysian car sales increased again in August, with 71,745 units sold, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) on Friday.

According to the association, total industry volume (TIV) was 13 percent higher than 63,676 units in July. The monthly TIV surpassed 70,000 for the second time this year.

The MAA attributes the strong growth to overall better performance across the board, improved supply chain, and car companies' National Day promotional campaigns.

Meanwhile, total industry production of 67,912 units in August was up from 66,862 units in July. image-full_normal---2023-09-18T085425.035.jpg

In September, the MAA expects car sales to be similar to last month's level.
