A month after the launch of its facelifted version, Honda Malaysia has announced a 180% increase in bookings for the Honda CR-V. The SUV is available in 3 variants - 2.0L 2WD, 1.5L TC-P 2WD, and 1.5L TC-P 4WD. Of the 1,700 bookings received, the 1.5TC-P 2WD makes up 46%.

Geographically, the Central region took up the most amount of bookings at 45%,  followed by Southern region (20%) and Northern region (19%). Surprisingly, Dark Olive Metallic is the most popular colour, with 30% of customers picking it over Lunar Silver Metallic, Passion Red Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.

The nipped and tucked CR-V looks cleaner with a new grille, new bumper design, smoked tail lights and 18 inch wheels. It’s also better equipped now with remote engine start features, remote retractable side mirrors and a hands-free powered tailgate.

A new rear seatbelt reminder complements the existing Honda SENSING safety suite, which includes a host of active safety features like adaptive cruise control, low speed follow, forward collision warning, collision mitigation warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist and auto high beam.

In terms of price, the CR-V competes directly with the Mazda CX-5. There are a few very capable contenders in the segment, including the Subaru Forester, Proton X70, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Peugeot 3008.
