2026 Honda CR-V Launched In Malaysia: 60 Seconds of Everything You Need to Know

Honda Malaysia has just shaken up the SUV market. For the first time ever, the CR-V is available in two hybrid flavors. If you’ve been waiting to ditch the petrol station but aren't ready for a full EV, this is your 60-second briefing.
The Fast Stats

3 Things You’ll Love
- Hybrid for (Almost) Everyone: You no longer have to buy the "top-spec" RS just to get the hybrid engine. The new e:HEV E variant brings that 335Nm of instant torque down to a more accessible price point (RM178,200).
- Google is Built-In: Forget fumbling with your phone. All variants now come with a 9-inch screen featuring Google Audio Services. That means Google Maps and Google Assistant are native to the car.
- Your Phone is Now the Key: Honda is debuting a Digital Key with this launch. You can lock, unlock, and start the engine entirely through your smartphone. No more "where did I put my keys?" moments.
1 Thing to Consider
The Price Gap: Choosing the flagship RS hybrid over the new E hybrid costs an extra RM17,700. You'll get the sporty styling and RS seats, but the "go-fast" hybrid tech under the hood is identical in both.
What’s New on the Outside?

Keep an eye out for the new Blazing Red Pearl color. Also, every single New CR-V now comes standard with authorized solar and security tint, saving you a trip to the accessory shop on day one.
Availability
The New CR-V is available for viewing and test drives at all authorized Honda dealerships starting today, March 3, 2026.
THE VERDICT: With the hybrid now starting at a lower price than the 1.5L Turbo V-spec, Honda is clearly betting that Malaysians are ready to go electric-ish.
Would you take the new 'E' Hybrid for RM178k, or stick to the traditional Turbo V-spec for RM181k? Let us know in the comments!
