- The Nissan Family Cookbook Will Make CMCO More Bearable
The pandemic has drastically changed our lifestyles. That said, there are also communities and companies that have came up with their own initiatives to make the world a little bit better. To keep the young ones occupied (and hopefully make them love cars more), Aston Martin has created a colouring book, and Toyota released print-it-yourself paper models online.
Not to be left behind, Nissan's US manufacturing team has created a cookbook to connect people. It has 140 recipes, from appetizers and soups to main dishes and desserts, all of them are contributed by the team members' personal collection.
“While our team is best known for assembling some of the highest-quality vehicles for consumers, they are also quite crafty in the kitchen,” said Nissan North America, Senior VP of manufacturing, supply chain, and purchasing, Steve Marsh. “The kitchen is typically the centre of holiday activity. It’s where everybody wants to be, and there’s no reason why this can’t continue, even during these unprecedented times.”
The recipes have special meaning to the team members as well, Christy Boisseau’s ‘Boss Hogg’s Tennessee Swamp Cabbage’ was actually her dad's, who has retired from the same Smyrna Assembly Plant she works at. “His recipe is well-known, and I’m happy to keep the family tradition going by sharing it with our Nissan family and neighbours.”
Bill Thompson from the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant contributed the 'Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast' for the cookbook. “I have a son with special needs that loves to help me cook. He loves bacon and chicken so much that we had to put it together,” said Thompson.
The Nissan Family Cookbook is the company's gift to the community for the holiday season, and it's available to all for free.
At the local front, the recently launched Nissan Almera with its has been getting favourable reviews because of its frugal turbocharged 3-cylinder and engine and delectable good looks. If you are keen in one, you might want to check out the nearest showroom to you.
