The fastest 3-Series money can buy in Malaysia is not the M340i xDrive anymore. After releasing teasers on their social media, BMW Malaysia announced that the BMW M3 Competition and M3 Competition can now be booked via their BMW Shop Online platform.

The BMW M3 Competition and BMW M4 Competition are estimated to start at RM664,800 and RM684,800 respectively without insurance. BMW Malaysia is also offering an optional Innovation Package at a discounted price till the end of this year.

The package which comes at a cost of RM75,000 (which buys you a 2009 BMW X6 xDrive35i) for the M3 Competition can be had at a discounted rate of RM58,000 (which still buys you a 2012 BMW X1 xDrive20d). The package for the M4 retails for RM76,000, but now it’s priced at RM56,000. The discount is effective until the end of this year.

The Innovation Package enhances more than just aesthetics, it has a host of safety and comfort features like Laserlight headlights, head-up display, glass roof, Connected Package, Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist, as well as the Driving Assistant package with forward collision warning and brake intervention, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, rear cross traffic alert and rear collision prevention.

Other items in the Innovation Package include Harman Kardon sound system, tyre pressure monitoring system and exclusive interior trim. However the M3 Competition cones with a delicious set of 19/20-inch M forged double-spoke alloys, but the M4 doesn’t get the same setup.

The M duo in competition form packs a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six engine which pumps out 510hp and 650Nm, 60hp and 100Nm more than the outgoing Competition models. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the duo is capable of hitting the century in 3.9 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 290km/h.

It’s also the first time the BMW M3 and M4 are offered with xDrive, although BMW Malaysia has not confirmed whether these versions will be introduced here. Interested buyers may place a RM5,000 booking on BMW Malaysia’s Shop Online platform now.
