Mercedes-Benz C300 AMG Line receives an update, RM2,000 lower than before
The top Mercedes-Benz C-Class below the hallowed grounds of Mercedes-AMG has received an update with a price reduction. The most notable change is the switch from Airmatic suspension to AMG Sport suspension. It’s now priced RM2,000 lower than before at RM291,800.34. This price will be effective until 31 December 2020.
Airmatic is actually Mercedes-Benz-speak for air suspension. It uses rubber and polyurethane airbags to adjust the ride quality and damping properties based on the driving mode selected. The Sports suspension, on the other hand, uses regular coil springs and dampers.
Apart from the suspension change, the C300 AMG Line is now equipped with Mercedes me communications module, which allows for remote engine start via the owner’s mobile phone, among other mobile-centric functions.
The 10.25 inch infotainment display remains, which means the super wide one-piece instrument cluster+infotainment display seen on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and GLB-Class is absent here. However, the system does offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A wireless mobile phone charging pad now comes standard.
Aside from these changes, the updated Mercedes-Benz C 300 AMG Line is the same with the current model, including the AMG Line visual treatments, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Parking Assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
It also has the same turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that churns out 258 hp and 370 Nm of torque, said power is channeled to the rear wheels via a 9G-Tronic 9-speed transmission. The C300 is the C-Class with a little bit more poke before one signs up for the pops and crackles for an AMG model.
