- JPJ Assures No Shortage of Road Tax Disc Supplies
Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) has debunked the reports about the shortage of road tax disc supplies.
This referred to a news report by Malaysiakini (Chinese), with the title of “Lack of road tax sticker is occurring nationwide, car dealers are missing out on the Chinese new Year business opportunities” that was published on February 1, 2021, 6.04 pm.
JPJ explained that all JPJ, Pos Malaysia, MyEG and PUSPAKOM outlets have been supplied with a total of 1,145,000 road tax stickers and recently, an additional 420,000 stickers have also been supplied to curb any shortages. JPJ assures the public that the situation is heavily monitored and there will be no complications in relation to road tax disc supplies.
Public are also advised to carry out all their transactions online in order not to crowd JPJ outlets as well as their partner outlets as the country is still taking precautions with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The transport ministry has also decided to continue with the exemption of the required renewal for expired road tax and driver licences from 1 February 2021 to 31 March 2021.
