- Introducing the all-new Jeep Gladiator
Stellantis North America introduces the all-new Jeep Gladiator to European markets in honour of the 80th anniversary of the brand. The model highlights versatility and freedom. The Gladiator was uniquely designed and manufactured to be a 100% pickup.
Specifically in Europe, the model is available in two variants, the Sport and Overland, the exclusive Launch Edition model offered during the launch phase, as well as the 80th Anniversary special-edition model that will be available in April.
Nine shade options are included in the Gladiator which are Black, Firecracker Red, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Bright White, Granite Crystal Metallic Clear Coat, Hydro Blue, Sting Grey, Snazzberry and Sarge Green, which comes in either a soft top or a black or body-colour hardtop. As for wheels, the Sport variant comes with 17-inch wheels, at the same time the Overland, Launch Edition and 80th Anniversary model will come equipped with 18-inch wheels.
The exterior of the vehicle comes with signature Jeep design cues such as the seven-slot grille. However, it did receive some significant improvements. The LED headlights, taillights and fog lamps come with white lighting that comes as standard in all variants.
Also included in the Gladiator is a 153-centimetre bed with LED bed lighting. On top of that, a weatherproof external power source (230V) and strong integrated tie-downs come as an option. Windshield and top combinations include a three-piece hardtop, soft top and top less.
A noteworthy feature of the Gladiator is the Cargo Management Group that includes a lockable storage compartment under the seat that is also able to be transported as a suitcase.
The interior of the vehicle comes with a horizontal dashboard design with a different finish for each variant. The instrument cluster is a 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) display that provides the driver with more than 100 ways to configure information. Not forgetting the signature fourth-generation Uconnect infotainment system with a 7-inch to 8.4-inch touchscreen.
The seats are finished in either black or heritage tan cloth and customers will be given an option to pick between black or dark saddle leather seats along with accent stitching and lumbar support.
Upon request, customers will also be given heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. For additional space inside the vehicle, the second row can be folded flat for access to cab-back storage.
On top of that, also included is a functional organizer in the storage compartment under the second row for stock screws and bolts of Gladiator's tops, doors and foldable windshield when driving open-air.
Standard for all variants is the 9-speaker Premium Alpine Audio System that comes inclusive of a rear subwoofer and a 552W, 12-channel amplifier where a portable Bluetooth wireless speaker will be offered as an option.
Under the hood of the Gladiator is a 3.0-litre MultiJet V-6 engine that produces 264 hp at 3,600 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 1,400-2,800 rpm and features Engine Stop-Start (ESS) technology.
The diesel engine uses advanced turbocharger technology with a low-friction bearing designed for low-end and brisk performance. It is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and also follows the Europe 6D Final standards.
Following that, the 3.0-litre V-6 engine uses dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) that comes with four valves per cylinder and a 60-degree angle between the cylinder banks. The block is cast with compacted graphite iron.
For cooler temperatures, the diesel engine’s turbo Charge Air Cooler (CAC) is placed at the base of the grille, in front of the radiator.
Some of the drive modes offered in the Gladiator is 2H (Two-Wheel Drive High Range), 4H AUTO (Full-Time Active On-Demand High Drive), 4H Part-Time (Part-Time Four-Wheel Drive High Range), N (Neutral) and 4L (Four-Wheel Drive Low Range).
Among the safety features included are standard LED headlights, tail lamps and fog lamps. Next to that is a ParkView rear camera with dynamic grid, front and rear Park Assist and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation.
Optional safety features offered are Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, exclusive forward-facing Trail-cam, Forward Collision Warning Plus with autonomous braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop Function and Automatic High Beam.
The Jeep Gladiator comes with exclusive accessories and performance parts powered by Mopar that include style accessories, interior comfort accessories, performance accessories, carriage accessories and load-carrying systems, as well as safety and care accessories.
