The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has been given very few upgrades for the 2021 model.

All models now come with a pill-shaped USB-Type C port as standard, replacing the square Type-A port previously positioned under the temperature control switch.

On top of that, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 2.0 TSI 4Motion R-Line variant also receives the Discover Pro 9.2-inch infotainment system which is enhanced.

This new generation system features an interface design and motion control functions that are generally the same, although now the host screen already has a second page for various vehicle functions and favorite panels. Most importantly, Apple CarPlay connectivity can now operate wirelessly.

On the exterior, there is only one element that distinguishes it from the 2020 model which is a black Volkswagen sticker affixed to the B-pillar. Other than that, the Tiguan Allspace still remains the same, this includes its engine and other equipment features.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 1.4 TSI Highline variant still has these feature LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch Kingston alloy wheels, keyless entry, engine start button, three-zone temperature control, power-adjustable driver seat with memory function, leather upholstery, digital instrument display 12.3-inch, eight-inch Discover Media infotainment touchscreen with physical control knobs, eight speakers, reversing camera and hands-free power opening tailgate.

As for the 2.0 TSI 4Motion, it receives an R-Line package, augmented with a sportier front and rear bumper design, body color layering, LED taillights and 19-inch Sebring alloy wheels. Inside, it is retained with existing features including flat bottom steering wheels, sport seats, black headlining and alloy pedals as well as side threshold plates. It also provides damper adaptive, powered adjustable passenger seats with memory function and Discover Pro system.

For the safety kit, it is still maintained with six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assistance, stability control and ISOFIX mounts. However, Allspace is still not provided with a driver assistance system including its own emergency brakes, despite having a driver attention monitoring system.

The Highline gets the 1.4-liter four-cylinder TSI turbo engine, with 150 PS (148 hp) of power and 250 Nm of torque, which channels power to the front wheels via a six-speed DSG wet dual-clutch transmission.

As for the R-Line, it is running on the 2.0-liter engine that is capable of blasting up to 220 PS (217 hp) and 350 Nm, matched with a seven-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system suitable for several driving modes.

With this relatively minimal increase, the prices of both variants faced less than RM 100 increment. The 1.4 TSI Highline is priced at RM 165,031,  increased by RM 30 compared to the previous price. While there is an increment of RM 62 for the 2.0 TSI 4Motion R-Line at RM 209,637. Both prices are on the road without insurance or sales and service tax (SST), including a five-year/no-limited mileage warranty.
