MINI is offering their fastest series production car, the MINI John Cooper Works GP with winter tyres and alloy wheels which are specifically developed for the model to combat the white snowy landscapes.

Responsible for the development of the ultra-high performance tyres for the MINI John Cooper Works GP is tyre manufacturer, Hankook. The winter tyres equipped are ideally suited for enjoying the outstanding power and race feel of the vehicle even on icy tracks.

Available for the high-performance athlete of a car, are ‘Winter i-cept evo 2’ tyres with a size of 195/45 R18 87H XL. They are wrapped around model-specific, 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels.

Finished in an asymmetric tread design with specially shaped sipes and grooves optimizes both traction and braking on snow-covered roads. This combination ensures hallmark MINI agility and precise handling characteristics in demanding winter road conditions.

Furthermore, the model-specific winter tyres, perfectly complement the suspension technology, which is perfectly tuned to the MINI John Cooper Works GP’s, high engine performance and the precisely tuned suspension control systems that are delivered by the John Cooper Works racing expertise.

Thus, with the enhanced grip of its winter tyres, the traction from a standstill is optimized, as well as driving stability during fast cornering maneuvers. Neither packed snow nor icy roads, nor wet and thawed roads can stop the irresistible forward momentum of this extreme athlete.

The MINI John Cooper Works GP is sporting a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with MINI Twin-Power Turbo technology that is able to generate a peak output of 306 hp (225 kW) while having a maximum torque of 450 Nm.

Power is sent to the front wheels and it is installed with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission that is paired with an integrated differential lock which ensures that the drive torque is converted into tip-top performance without any loss of power.

It can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 265 kph. The fuel consumption is 7.3-litres per 100 km and has combined CO2 emissions of 167 g/km. It is the fastest model of the British premium brand ever and the stats apply for the snowy terrains too.

Ultimately, the MINI John Cooper Works GP is not only a limited-edition rarity that has racing genes, it is an enchantingly brilliant vehicle in its entirety. Thanks to the new winter tyres, there is now no reason for the most extreme athlete in the MINI model range to spend the cold season in the garage.
