Hyundai Motor America provided a complimentary charging of 250 KWh on Electrify America’s ultra-fast charging network for owners that have 2021 Kona Electric and Ioniq Electric models. It equals about 1,000 miles of EPA estimated driving range for these two models.

Customers can access their complimentary charging by the Electrify America mobile app. It helps and navigate drivers to find Electrify America stations and start the charging session.

“Our Kona and Ioniq owners are getting additional peace of mind when heading out on longer trips with prepaid access to Electrify America’s national fast-charging network. Electrify America’s DC fast chargers more than meet the Kona and Ioniq’s higher power charging capabilities,” said Hyundai North America vice president, product planning, and mobility strategy Olabisi Boyle.

Electrify America has over 2,400 ultra-fast chargers across the country. The stations are located along major routes and in metro areas near shopping centers, banks and dining amenities. Each station has three to ten individual DC fast chargers to accommodate multiple vehicles at one time. The charges use the fastest technology by providing speeds of up to 150kW and 350kW for capable vehicles to help reduce the time spent charging.

“Kona and Ioniq owners gain access to our fast-charging network which was rated Number One by umlaut Inc. in Charged Electric Vehicles Magazine in its 2020 “Best-in-Test” award,” said Electrify America director and fleet business development Wayne Killen.

Electrify America installed its first charging station since May 2018, the company has 96 percent of the population who live within 120 miles of an Electrify America charger. Hyundai customers can manage their fast-charging plan through a convenient app.

The 2021 Hyundai Kona Electric offers a 258-miles while Hyundai Ioniq Electric offers 170-miles EPA-estimated driving range. Both variants have 7.2 kW on-board charger, which increases charging speed on L2 AC chargers. Also, it uses a 100 kW DC fast-charger and the battery can reach 80 percent charge in 54 minutes.

Apart from that, Hyundai Kona Electric comes with a 64 kWh battery pack and it has a 10.25-inch navigation system that is available, while Hyundai Ioniq Electric also runs EPA-estimated 133 combined MPGe too.

Hyundai Assurance backed Hyundai’s technology-rich product lineup of cars, SUVs and alternative-powered electric and fuel cell vehicles is their promise to create a better experience for customers.
