- Mercedes-Benz E-Class Facelift Reveal: Two Variants Up For Grabs!
Making its way in the Malaysian market is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift, which was introduced globally in March last year. Locally assembled in Pahang, two variants are offered - the E 200 Avantgarde and E 300 AMG Line.
The E-Class features an array of upgrades, both exterior and interior: The E 200 comes standard with the Avantgarde appearance, which emphasises the vehicle's agility and elegance. It has a sleek new grille, freshly designed LED high-performance headlamps and tail lamps, a bonnet with noticeable power domes, and 18-inch 5-twin spoke light-alloy wheels.
Meanwhile, the AMG Line on the E 300 showcases a new bumper aligned with the AMG aesthetic along with 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke-light-alloy wheels. Additionally, the MULTIBEAM LED headlamps are now fitted with the ULTRA RANGE high beam.
Moving to the back, the rear end of the E-Class has also been updated with a new bumper, split tail lamps, and a redesigned boot lid. The interior design of the tail lamps was also modified for all models.
Powering the E-Class is the previously used M264 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, which powers 194 hp and 320 Nm for the E 200 and 255 hp and 370 Nm for the E 300, respectively. This allows the Avantgarde to finish a century sprint in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 240km, while the AMG Line records at 6.2 seconds alongside a top speed of 250km.
Interior upgrades include a new multifunction steering wheel with Touch Control buttons and light longitudinal-grain aluminium and black open-pore ash wood trimmings, Thermatic dual-zone climate control, powered front seats with memory function, powered rear window sunblind, and Artico man-made leather upholstery for both variants.
Additionally, the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system is also included for the E-Class. Displayed in the Widescreen Cockpit, the system features two 12.3-inch displays, allowing seamless accessibility for drivers.
Safety-wise, the E 200 is equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz driving assistance systems, Active Brake Assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, Blind Spot Assist, and Keyless-Go, just to name a few. The E 300 further adds a 360-degree camera and a Driving Assistance Package, which consists of Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and PRE-SAFE® PLUS.
The E-Class is also offering URBAN GUARD: a vehicle protection package that provides an all-around monitoring of the vehicle, which includes an anti-theft alarm system, tow-away protection, alarm siren, interior monitoring and also a pre-installation for theft and parking collision detection.
As part of the model’s refresh, two new paint colours are available for the E-Class, namely Grey Metallic and High-Tech Silver.
The E 200 will go for sale starting at RM326,943, while the E 300 is priced from RM375,432. Note that these prices include a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty along with the sales tax exemption, which is expected to end by this December. Also available is the Step Up Agility Financing Plan, offered by Mercedes-Benz Financial.
