Over a month ago, the highly anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This event was said to be one of the most significant public events in the UK since early 2020 due to the cancellation of last year’s show.

The public witnessed the Valkyrie meet the famous Hillclimb past Goodwood House challenge in the ‘Supercar’ batch during the festival.

Equipped with a 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces 1160 bhp, the vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in around 2.5 seconds. Behind the wheel was Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM Team driver Lance Stroll.

Also appearing on the almost 2km course was the all-new Vantage F1® Edition. The V12 Speedster present in the latest DBR1 Design Specification and the DB11 and DBS Volante at the Supercar Paddock were other noteworthy appearances.

Following that, the First Glance paddock hosted the DBX, Aston Martin’s highly commended SUV, with Aston Martin’s Chief Engineer, Matt Becker, behind the wheel.

Other drivers that made Hillclimb appearances over the weekend include Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers, EVP and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, and three-time Le Mans winner Darren Turner.

The weekend also brought upon an ‘Aston Martin Moment’ where the Vantage Official Safety Car of Formula 1®, DBX Official Medical Car of Formula 1® and Vantage F1® Edition were led by the Valkyrie as they made their way up the Hillclimb along with the renowned racing heroes, DBR1 and LM7.

Did you know that the LM7 was one of 3 Aston Martin factory ‘Team Cars’ built for the 1931 season that made its debut at the Brooklands JCC Double Twelve?

As we move on to 2022, this will mark an entire century since the grand prix debut of Aston Martin in France in 1922. In regards to this, we are reminded of the brand’s triumphant success in sportscar racing throughout its 108-year history.

A worthy mention would be the overall victory in the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with the famous DBR1 with Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori behind the wheel.

During the festival, the precision was joined by Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM Team’s race car, AMR21, driven by Aston Martin Cognizant Formula OneTM Team driver, Lance Stroll.

Taking centre stage was the only 2021 F1® car to appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the AMR21.
