Emphasising On Design, Individuality And Emotion, Volkswagen Introduces The New Taigo To European Markets
Recently hitting European markets on July 29 was the new Volkswagen Taigo. This new compact crossover is the first SUV coupé that the company has introduced to the European market.
Emphasising design, individuality and emotion, highlights of the new Taigo include full LED headlights, an all-digital cockpit and the latest generation of infotainment systems (MIB3) as standard.
A noteworthy characteristic of the vehicle is the rear that slopes backwards in a coupé, without restricting headroom for backseat passengers. It was said that SUV coupés inspired the striking silhouette like that of a coupé in higher vehicle classes.
Measuring at just under 4.26 meters, this expressive body shape is the first in the Volkswagen brand’s model portfolio.
We believe that this model truly caters to the new, predominantly young and young-at-heart groups of buyers.
Moving on, the technical basis of the Taigo is Volkswagen’s MQB. It also comes equipped with a new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grille crossbar (depending on the variant).
As for the interior, coming as standard is a multifunctional steering wheel and modern control elements. Next to that, the infotainment systems are based on the third generation of MIB3. This also includes an online control unit (eSIM) and “App-Connect Wireless'' (depending on the configuration).
Among the features that allow the use of the latest MIB3.1 services includes access to streaming services, natural voice control, and cloud-based personalisation using “Volkswagen ID''. However, these features also depend on the configuration.
Of course, we can't forget about driver’s assistance features! Coming as standard on this new SUV coupé is assistance systems such as the surroundings monitoring system “Front Assist”, including city emergency brake function, and the lane departure warning system “Lane Assist”.
Also available as an additional option is an “IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist” that enables semi-automated driving up to a system-determined top speed of 210 km/h.
