Showcasing Two Astonishing Builds, Koenigsegg Presents The Jesko Absolute And The Gemera
Exhibited at the Monterey Car Week, Koenigsegg, the Swedish hypercar maker, presented their extraordinary Jesko Absolut and the Gemera.
Koenigsegg Automotive AB’s chief executive officer and founder Christian von Koenigsegg remarked, “I was overwhelmed by the extremely positive reaction the Jesko Absolut and Gemera received during our time in Monterey. It was gratifying to personally hear from people who have long followed our brand and our passion.”
To begin with, Koenigsegg claims that the Jesko Absolut will be the fastest Koenigsegg ever made, and there will never be a faster series-production road car from the company.
That said, the model line will offer patrons with a selection between the top speed-focused Jesko ‘Absolut’ and track-focused Jesko ‘Attack’ trims.
An absolute beast of a vehicle, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute harbours a neck splitting 1,600 bhp capable mill at its heart.
This is also possible due to its drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd, low drag silhouette, stance and frontal area of just 74-inches.
In the other corner, the Koenigsegg Gemera is the company’s first four-seater MEGA-GT, which was developed by Freevalve.
At its core, the Gemera roars with the carmaker's Tiny Friendly Giant Twin Turbo Freevalve 2-litre, 3-cylinder internal combustion mill that generates 440 kW (600 bhp) at 7,500 rpm to 8,500 rpm.
It is further paired to three electric motors with the rear wheels getting an individual motor each and a third mounted on the crankshaft that powers the front wheels.
The former sees 500 bhp of power and 1,000 Nm of torque to each rear wheel and the latter an output of 400 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.
Combining the petrol mill and e-motors enable the Gemera to dash from 0 – 100 km/h in an astounding 1.9 seconds.
Besides the two models mentioned above, the Swedish hypercar maker also showcased five additional customer vehicles from the U.S. Koenigsegg Ghost Squadron.
Making up the impressive line-up are the CCR that made its first appearance on U.S. soil, a CCX, an Agera FE, a Reger and the Agera RS.
The first Koenigsegg Jesko models are scheduled for delivery to patrons in late 2022, and production on the Koenigsegg Gemera is expected to begin in 2023.
