Catering To The Local High-Rise Pickup An SUV Market, The ‘MICHELIN LTX Trail’ Makes Its Debut!

MICHELIN recently introduced the MICHELIN LTX Trail tyre to Malaysian markets. Exclusively made for high-rise pickups and SUVs, the on- and off-road tyre emphasizes an extended lifespan and long-lasting safety with state-of-the-art wet braking performance. 

“At MICHELIN, we are constantly innovating to enable people to move around more freely, safely, and to live a better life in motion. The new Michelin LTX Trail is a great match for the increasing popularity of SUVs, which is projected to grow 5.6% year-on-year, from 2021 to 2026,” said Managing Director of MICHELIN Malaysia Singapore and Brunei, Oliver Biggart. 

“Perfect for consumers who own 4x2 and 4x4 high-rise pickups, as well as SUVs – such as Toyota Hilux, Toyota Fortuner, and Nissan Navara, these tyres also cater to those whose lifestyle demands the ability to reach on- and off-road destinations, for work or pleasure. As the MICHELIN LTX Trail is designed for multi-purpose use, it is recommended for 80% on-road and 20% off-road driving.”

“We are confident that the new MICHELIN LTX Trail gives drivers in Malaysia a safe and comfortable ride on the road, across a variety of terrain – ranging from city commuting, wet road, highway driving, to light and moderate off-road,” he added. 

Some of the benefits of the MICHELIN LTX Trail include a 41 percent longer mileage with the RallyForce2 Tread Compound and a new tread design with the Biting Shoulder. 

In addition to that, it also promotes long-lasting safety as it comes with Variable Thickness Sipes, which allows for better handling, grip, and braking performance. Not only that, the MICHELIN LTX Trail stops 3.1 meters shorter when new, and 4.6 meters shorter when worn on wet roads but stops 3.8 meters shorter when new on dry roads. 

Next to that, it also has a 19.8 percent lower sound pressure level 4 due to the Duo-Harmony Blocks that come with two different block shapes in the tread’s centre. This promotes a quieter and calmer driving experience for passengers. 

Available in 9 sizes and rim dimensions ranging from 15 and 18 inches, the MICHELIN LTX Trail can be purchased at MICHELIN’s authorized tyre dealers across the country.
