Volkswagen Arteon 2021 R-Line 4 Motion VS Volkswagen Arteon 2020
Locally assembled in Pekan, Volkswagen Arteon was first launched in August 2020. Currently, this 5-door Sportback sedan is available in 2 variants which are Volkswagen Arteon 2021 R-Line and Volkswagen Arteon 2020 TSI R-Line.
Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4 Motion priced at RM248,692.67 with nine years monthly payment of RM2,632. Meanwhile, the TSI R-Line series costs around RM221,065 with a nine years monthly payment of RM 2339.60, respectively.
For a VW Arteon R-Line 4 Motion, it has an all four-motion wheel drive system which compared to TSI R-Line consists of only a front-wheel-drive system. Engine-wise, it is using a 2.0 TSI 280PS turbocharged direct injection petrol 4-cylinder engine, running 276 hp at 5,100 to 6.500 rpm of max power, and accelerating 350 Nm at 1,700-5,600 rpm of torque power. Since it’s a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), the top speed of this engine could afford up to 250 km/h within 7.4 l/100km compared to VW Arteon TSI R-LINE which holds an engine capacity of 7.1 seconds with an 8-Speed Steptronic Sports Transmission within only 6.3 l/100km.
As for the body artwork, the Volkswagen Arteon has a redesigned grille that incorporates an LED light bar linking the daytime running lights and moving close to the other side, there are new taillights graphics with “dashes” and an inverted L-shaped design. At the front, notably a difference of more aggressive front bumper design and new Volkswagen logo located at the front.
While Volkswagen Arteon TSI R-Line is still using an analogue centre clock, new features upgraded consists of a new dashboard design and angular air vents for R-Line 4 Motion. Next, this latest series has a redesigned steering wheel and added a lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Another special feature included for this VW series is an expanded 30-colour palette for the ambient lighting system and touch-sensitive switches for climate control.
As for the seating, this model is offering ErgoComfort seats which have a sportier look with integrated headrests and an embroidered R Logo. For the sound system, a VW Arteon R-Line 4 Motion is using Harman Kardon 700W 12 speakers meanwhile VW Arteon R-Line 4 Motion prefers 11 speakers with 700-watt Dynaudio.
Safety-wise, both models have seven airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX.
