Volkswagen ID.4 EV preview headlines Volkswagen Fest 2022

Good news for VW fans! The Volkswagen Fest 2022 marks its post-pandemic return this month.  During this festival, the German marque is poised to host an official preview of its flagship electric crossover, by which we mean the Volkswagen ID.4.

Marking its debut on Malaysian soil, no word of which variant of the ID.4 will be displayed just yet. Nevertheless, the ID.4 Pro range-topper, which packs a 77 kWh battery, reportedly enables a maximum range of 520 KM (WLTP). As for performance, the ID.4 Pro’s electric motor with 204 PS and 310 NM enables 0-100 KMH in 8.5 seconds whilst enroute towards a limited V-max of 160 KMH.

With the local EV market growing bigger this year, this could be a sign of VPCM’s impending entry into this evolving market space. Surely, there’s space for another electrified crossover to rival against the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that currently leads the pack.

Apart from the ID.4 preview, the event bill also includes live music performances plus freestyle football demonstrations to entice visitors. This comes on top of a showcase of numerous vintage Volkswagen automobiles throughout the fest.

For parents with little ones, there’s the Volkswagen Driving Academy that offers the chance for children to obtain their first ever driving licences. Notably, visitors can also participate in test drives with a myriad of Volkswagen’s current wave of product offerings such as the Arteon, Golf, and Tiguan.

Happening at the Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur, Volkswagen Fest 2022 takes place on Oct 15 from 10AM to 10Pm, and Oct 16 from 10AM-8PM.
