The long-awaited Mercedes-AMG Project One was revealed over four years ago, yet until today the Formula 1-infused hypercar is still not ready for production.
Initially postponed to autumn 2021, the 2022 model year Mercedes-AMG One is expected to feature a redesigned exhaust system and aerodynamic engineering from the 2017 F1 season.

That said, according to Mercedes-Fans.de, this delay in production is due to some calibration-related hurdles that had to do with the 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine.
Aside from that, there’s also the problem of exhaust sound, which is regulated in both the European Union and the United States of America.

On another note, assembled in Brackley, England, the One combines a high-output powerplant with MGU-H and MGU-K systems plus two electric motors up front.
Furthermore, as suggested by enthusiasts, the addition of the T-shaped wing looks ridiculous, but nonetheless, it efficiently produces downforce with minimum drag penalty at high speed.

As such, it is an e-AWD land missile that excels tremendously at corners, and the One is expected to lap the Nurburgring circuit in less than six minutes.
Also, its high-revving powerplant derived from the championship-winning W07 racing car is a beast on public roads, especially at idle.

Overall, upon production time, only 275 examples will be produced with each one spoken for, and the Formula 1 based hypercar comes with a price tag of USD 2.72 million (RM 11,334,240) apiece.
