- NISMO Unveils The Revolutionary Nissan Z For A New Era In Super GT
Nissan Motorsport International (NISMO) has unveiled the new Nissan Z, a car used by NISMO GT500 teams starting next year onward.
NISMO has had a strong presence in the Japanese grand touring car racing series Super GT ever since it began. Throughout the years, NISMO has won numerous team championships.
Since 2003, Nismo and Motul have been working together to power the Super GT efforts in which Motul has developed specially designed competition oils for NISMO engines.
In 2022, the NISMO will take a different path by opting to usher in a new generation for the Super GT. This marks the end of the GT-R era after an unforgettable 14 years of watching the GT-R achieve unparalleled success worldwide.
For the record, Nissan started with the Nissan Skyline GT-R in the early years, followed by the 350Z and NISMO most recent and arguably the most iconic GT500.
Next year, NISMO teams will be using the brand new Nissan Z GT500 car powered by a Motul-filled 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine, pumping out 650hp. This wide-body car combines elements from the S30 240Z and the 300ZX along with the latest technology that portrays Nissan’s spirit of challenge.
As a major key player in developing the Class One engine over the years, Motul has applied the learnings and incorporated the unveiled the new Nissan Z, a car used by NISMO GT500 teams starting next year onwards. The latest technology to dedicated lubricants brings similar racing-grade products to Nissan customers.
The introduction of the new Nissan Z marks another significant milestone for both NISMO and Motul. In April, the New Z will make its race debut at the 2022 Super GT season opener at Okayama International Circuit.
