Proton Holdings Bhd recorded 6.2 percent growth with 14,187 units sold in November 2021, thus making the total sales for 2021 100,566 units.

Proton Edar's Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Abdullah, said November this year was quite a successful month for Proton despite the automotive industry experiencing a shortage in component supply.

Proton Saga managed to record the best monthly sales since December 2020, with 5,666 units have been sold.

"The Proton X50 recorded excellent customer deliveries in November when 4,010 units were delivered. This is a good record from 3,839 units in October, making the B-segment smart sports utility vehicle (SUV) the best-selling for its class and the SUV segment.

“The Proton X70 also continued to be successful in terms of sales with 1,901 units delivered to customers, making it far further ahead in the C-segment SUV class,” according to PROTON.

The Proton Exora maintained growth for four consecutive months and dominated the C-segment MPV market with sales of 434 units.

The issue of component supply continues to be a concern for Proton. The issue has been affecting the production volume of the Proton Iriz and Persona, but these two models still managed to achieve high sales volumes, of 642 and 1,534 units, respectively.

"We are confident to end the year with a massive increase in sales volume. This will make us the only national brand to increase sales and market share this year.

"This gives us a solid foundation towards 2022 to consolidate and improve our position in the domestic and international markets," he said in a statement.
