- PIAM & MTA Partnered Up For A Road Safety Campaign – “#Steadybrader
Road accidents have been a significant issue occurring nationwide. According to WHO, there are 1.25 million people who die caused by road accidents yearly.
Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) and the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) have joined forces and kickstarted a year-long campaign under PIAM-MTA 2022 Nationwide Road Safety Campaign.
The campaign came out with a theme, “#steadybrader” which encourages road users to remain calm and steady while driving or riding vehicles.
PIAM and MTA have prepared several activities specifically for the year-long campaign. The activities included are road safety educational quizzes, community outreach through gamification and collaborative programmes with government agencies and companies.
“I am very glad to officiate the launch of this year-long road safety campaign by PIAM and MTA as we cannot ignore the high figures of fatalities caused by road accidents.” said the director of the enforcement division Datuk Lokman Jamaan.
“Cases such as driving above speed limits, driving against the traffic and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs are main factors that contribute to road accidents,” he added.
