Targeted at the North American market, Mazda Motor Corporation’s production of its all-new CX-50 crossover SUV has begun at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc. site.

This is a new site jointly constructed with Toyota Motor Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama, where the CX-50 is Mazda’s first vehicle to be manufactured at said location.

Mazda’s senior managing executive officer, Takeshi Mukai, commented, "The CX-50 is a model that serves as the driving force for Mazda's business growth in North America. We would like to see the plant taking root in the local community by offering employment opportunities and creating a supply chain in the region. And as a good U.S. corporate citizen, we are committed to nurture it into a production plant that shares a close connection with the local community."

Being Mazda’s most important market, the brand has been engaged in initiatives to strengthen its sales area in the U.S. ever since 2016.

Largely, the efforts include upgrading dealerships to the next-generation, introducing sales finance, improving sales operations, and now with the launching of its CX-50 in spring of this year.

The all-new CX-50 crossover SUV significantly caters to the lifestyle and needs of North American customers through its design that suits the outdoors.

Its appeal is further complemented by its strong and highly efficient powertrain that has an AWD system fitted across the board, as well as its high running stability off-road.

With assembly kicking off at a new site armed with the latest technology, Mazda is assuring a production and supply system that enables timely delivery of high-quality products.

All in all, Mazda aims to become a brand that creates strong bonds with customers by focusing on the pure essence of cars, the joy of driving and commitment to preserve the beautiful earth.
