- Toyota Teases New SUV Model Ahead of US Debut

Toyota has just published a teaser showcasing its new SUV model, set to debut in the US soon.
Another day, another new model being teased by an automaker, and this time around it’s from Toyota, although this one may not be available to the rest of the world. Published via Toyota USA’s official social media page, the single teaser image is accompanied by a caption that reads, “Something new is on the horizon,” and details are quite scarce on this supposed new SUV.
Despite this, CarScoops has pointed out that this mysterious model could be the long-rumoured three-row SUV that is slated for production in the US, possibly based on the Toyota bZ Large SUV concept revealed back in 2021.

Putting the single teaser image side by side with the bZ Large SUV concept shows that both models share a very similar rear-end design, with the highlights being the slim LED taillight bar and angular body lines. As for the rest of the car, it remains to be seen whether this mysterious model would adopt similar design cues seen on the bZ Large SUV concept.

The bZ Large SUV concept was announced a few years back as part of Toyota’s then ambitious strategy of revamping its lineup, which will see the introduction of no less than 15 new vehicles, and all of them were planned to be electric at that time. Industry watchers then quickly labelled the production version of this concept as the bZ5X, suggesting that the model will sit above the current bZ4X as Toyota’s new three-row EV SUV for the US market.
That said, Toyota themselves have yet to confirm any official naming for this mysterious SUV, and numerous reports have suggested that the automaker might revive one of their old nameplates like the Highlander for it.

Bringing a well-known nameplate to an entirely new model has become quite a common practice among automakers these days, although it could carry potential risks of defacing it, like what Ford did with its iconic Mustang name for the Mustang Mach-E EV crossover. But Toyota is no stranger to this practice, with models like the new, all-electric Urban Cruiser being one of the chief examples in recent times.
Fortunately, we might not have to wait for long to know more about this mysterious SUV, as it will debut sometime later in the first half of 2026. We can also expect more details and information to be shared about this new SUV, like whether it will underpin the same e-TNGA all-electric platform as the bZ4X, as we get closer to its debut date.
