All Volvo New Car Models Integrated with Over-The-Air Software Update
All new Volvo car models starting 2023 including XC90, S60 and V60 are now upgraded with a new software update, over-the-air (OTA) which follows the technology’s introduction on Volvo Car’s EV edition.
Apart from receiving Android Automotive OS and Android 11 system, the OTA gives access to new app sets on Google Play including navigation, charging, and parking.
As Volvo Cars’ infotainment system is jointly developed with Google, the company revealed its new Google Apps and services such as Google Assistant and Google Maps built-in across all new models. Soon, video streaming will also be added to the upgrades as well.
But do take note, the new OTA system and Google Services are not applicable on Volvo XC40 variants.
OTA presented as the eight update and marks the debut in several new markets including India, Taiwan, and New Zealand, after expansion to markets such as South Korea, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore earlier in the year.
On top of integrated with improved climate timers, mobile apps functionality and in-car apps, the energy consumption helps to maintain battery well-being in both cold as well as warm days.
“By making all Volvo models able to receive over-the-air updates, we make important progress towards our ambition of making our customers’ cars better every day,” said chief product officer officer at Volvo Cars, Henrik Green.
