The 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door V8 Gets Design And Performance Updates

Mercedes-Benz has made a small upgrade to the V8-powered AMG GT 4-Door Coupe vehicles. The 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 S receive modest yet significant design modifications, as well as an important performance enhancement, as a follow-up to the V6-powered model updates from previous year, the GT 43 and 53.

The distinctively styled front apron, which debuted with the series' new top model, the GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, distinguishes the facelifted eightcylinder variants of the AMG GT 4Door Coupé at first glance. The outside air intakes are larger and more angled toward the car's centre. The airflow is now directed to the radiators through three vertical fins.

Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes‑AMG GmbH, Philipp Schiemer, said that the 4-door coupé segment, the Mercedes-AMG GT offers the perfect balance between everyday practicality and sportiness with it’s on the road performance and wide range of drive options.

For the exterior colors, you now has a total of four matt paints, four metallic tints, and two solid colours to choose from. In addition, the Editions vehicles have two distinctive paint treatments. The new AMG Night Package II, or a combination of the Night Package and the Carbon Package, for example, can enhance the expressive exterior design.

The interior has also been updated with new colours and finishes, including the AMG Performance steering wheel.

With its constantly adjustable pressure relief valves, the standard AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension adjusts the damping force for each wheel to suit the conditions in only a few milliseconds. The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programmes are used to preselect the fundamental set-up, ranging from "Sport+" for especially dynamic driving to "Comfort" for smooth glide.

The AMG designers were able to widen the gap between sportiness and comfort dramatically. Furthermore, using a button, the tuning can be altered in three steps independently of the drive programmes.

As the car rides on the 5twinspoke design of the 21-inch AMG forged wheels, it emphasises the expressive and exclusive look. They're finished in black and have a high-shine rim flange. For even more personalization, the AMG Aerodynamics Package and the AMG Exterior Carbon Package are available as options. The panoramic roof (optional) floods the interior with natural light.

The atmosphere here is pure motorsport, thanks to several highlights. These include the AMG Performance seats and AMG trim elements in black piano lacquer appearance or, on request, carbon, or the sports seats in Exclusive nappa leather in twotone titanium grey pearl/black with yellow contrasting stitching. The interior Edition emblem and illuminated door sill panels in green that match the external painting add to the exclusivity of the vehicle.

The AMG Special Edition is also available as an option for the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé with an eight-cylinder engine, with painting in the dark gemstone shade MANUFAKTUR rubellite red metallic. The AMG Exterior Chrome kit, as well as silver-painted, high-sheen and 21-inch AMG forged wheels with a 5twinspoke design, are included.

Boasting individual seats that are pleasant, a high-quality ambiance, and quick access to a wide range of infotainment and comfort features the interior is further distinguished by seat upholstery in MANUFAKTUR Exclusive nappa leather in neva grey/black and trim components in openpore grey ash wood. The AMG MANUFAKTUR steering wheel is available in two different colours of exquisite nappa leather.

For the AMG GT 4‑Door model, this includes exclusive paintwork and high‑quality interiors. In addition, AMG's three-color sports stripes provide for even more sporty visual placement. There are five additional inside options with special nappa leather in diamond quilting, including a twotone AMG Performance steering wheel and AMG highpile floor mats with embroidered AMG branding.
