Number of Travellers departed from SG to MSIA continued until almost half of million

In conjunction with the Singapore-Malaysia land border reopened on previous Apr 1, currently almost half a million of travellers entering Malaysia through land checkpoints recently. 

Apart from that, recorded 436,800 travellers passed through the land checkpoints at the Causeway in Woodlands and the Second Link in Tuas over Good Friday weekend.

The increasing numbers mostly contributed from several public holidays in May – Labour Day, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Wesak Day.

According to Singapore news portal, Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) expressed a traffic congestion will occur at the checkpoints as 280,000 travellers from Singapore headed to Malaysia on weekends. 

Today Online also claims among 491,400 travellers who entered Malaysia from April 29 to May 3, 201,900 travel by driving their cars.
