Why Does Samsung Refuse to Produce Electric Vehicles?

Samsung, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, already has everything needed to develop its own EV. But, to date, Samsung has shown no signs of entering the automotive industry.

Samsung collaborates with a number of EV manufacturers, including BMW, Audi, Tesla, and Hyundai. At this point, Samsung could easily plan a collaboration with any EV company and develop its own EV.

According to a recent report, Samsung believes that developing its own EVs will jeopardise existing collaborations with other companies that currently receive EV components from Samsung. This outcome is considered the best for the time being, with the focus remaining on the supply of EV components.

Brands such as Xiaomi have already invested large sums of money in developing their own vehicles. Apple, on the other hand, has already begun production of the Apple Car, which is expected to debut in 2025. Other smartphone manufacturers, such as Huawei and Oppo, are also working on EVs.

With Apple's exposure of EVs expected in 2025, it is not impossible that this will serve as a catalyst for other companies to explore the world of electric cars. Samsung already possesses the required technological capabilities, as well as collaborations with EV companies that can provide expertise.

What do you think, is it possible for Samsung to manufacture its own EV? Should Samsung attempt to develop EVs or stick to supplying EV components only?
