Crisis management time for Nissan, as the Japanese auto giant is recalling more than 300,000 SUVs in the United States.
According to Nissan’s North American division, the number goes up to 322,671 of the Pathfinder models ranging between 2013 and 2016.
Possibilities to increase the risk of a crash, this recall is for a faulty to the hood that may distress the driver with visual obstructions.

Specifically, Nissan stated that build-up of dirt and dust on the secondary hood latch could cause it to come undone and stay unlatched even when the hood is closed.
Additionally, the hood could fly open if the main latch is unintentionally released or not properly closed after engine service.
That said, to resolve the issue, Nissan said a remedy is under development, and all owners of the affected models are projected to be notified starting July 18.
