The new GLC is finally here!

Taunted as the most most dynamic SUV Mercedes-Benz has ever built, it features a modern luxury design language with 6 cm more body length with an interior full of new smart solutions.

Here are the key highlights of this sleek and exceptional SUV;

Drive systems: The engine lineup includes four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with an electric motor. Four of them are mild hybrids with a built-in second-generation starter-generator (ISG). Three other engine variants are plug-in hybrid units with a system output of up to 280 kW (381 hp) and a system torque of up to 750 Nm. All the plug-in hybrids have an electric range of more than 100 kilometres (WLTP).

A noticeably more electric driving experience: The enhanced hybrid driving programme includes an electric driving mode for the most appropriate sections of the route.

All-rounder both on and off the road: Off-road screen simplifies operation, "transparent bonnet" provides clearer information, and improved control systems provide outstanding traction and handling safety.

Comfort and agility: A new four-link front suspension and an independent multi-link rear suspension. The standard suspension already offers excellent suspension, ride and noise comfort, agile handling, and driving enjoyment. It includes an amplitude-dependent damping system. The AIRMATIC air suspension has variably adjustable damping for compression and rebound.

Agile and safe: More direct steering ratio at the front axle. The steering angle at the rear axle is up to 4.5 degrees. This reduces the turning circle by 80 centimetres, to 11.0 metres.

Exterior design: New headlamps, which connect directly to the radiator grille and accentuate the vehicle’s width. In combination with the optional DIGITAL LIGHT, they feature daytime-driving ellipses in addition to the well-known “torch”. Another visual highlight is the radiator grille with chrome surround on the standard AVANTGARDE exterior.

Interior design: The dashboard is divided horizontally into two sections, with generous trim surfaces and a central display that appears to float above it. The avant-garde seat design and modern door panels highlight the interior's high quality.

Wind resistance: In its aerodynamically most favourable configuration, the minimal drag coefficient of the GLC is Cd = 0.29. This makes it two tenths better than its predecessor (Cd = 0.31) – a notable advance for an SUV with conventional drive.

Noise comfort: Even better, the GLC is a pleasantly quiet vehicle with a refined sound signature and very low road and wind noise. All of the acoustic measures work together to create the "welcome home" atmosphere that Mercedes-Benz is known for.

MBUX: The most recent generation of the infotainment system, which comes standard with two large displays and full-screen navigation, makes the interior even more digital and intelligent.

Maximum operating convenience: The voice assistant Hey Mercedes has become more capable of dialogue and learning. The MBUX Smart Home function turns the GLC into a mobile control centre for the home.

Entertainment: Newsflash as another new feature of MBUX. With the keyword “Hey Mercedes”, it enables the customer to access individually chosen news categories such as business, sport or culture. The optional Burmester® surround sound system offers a unique listening experience with 15 premium speakers and a total output of 710 watts.

Assistance systems: The latest generation of the Driving Assistance package contains additional and further improved functions, e.g. in Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, the new Parking package with 360-degree camera and Trailer Manoeuvring Assist.

DIGITAL LIGHT: This optional headlamp technology adds new features such as the projection of auxiliary markings and warning symbols onto the road.

Comfort appointments: The components and systems of the GLC are improved in numerous details, e.g. ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL, AIR-BALANCE, GUARD 360°, ambience lighting and the new panoramic sunroof, which has a slimmer cross-strut for a significantly improved feeling of spaciousness. The optional multi contour seat now has extended massage functions.

Ideal partner for trailer operations: Two highlights of the GLC for towing operations are the new trailer menu and the towing route planner. The goal of these and other advanced functions for towing vehicle operation is to make towing as safe and enjoyable as possible. Furthermore, the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system provides excellent traction on any surface.
