- FB Scam Costs Supervisor Over RM200K Crushes Dream of Owning MPV
Over RM200,000 is lost in FB scam which deprives a supervisor of owning a unit of MPV.
According to a local news, the man thought he had hit the lottery when he saw his dream luxury MPV being sold for an absurdly low price in Mukah, Sarawak.
While browsing his Facebook page, the 37-year-old noticed a Toyota Vellfire for sale for RM33,000 on May 25.

Mukah OCPD Deputy Supt Muhamad Rizal claims the man contacted the seller through WhatsApp.
“The man was asked to make various types of payments which include deposits, delivery charges, Customs tax, and road tax.
“All in all, the man paid a total of RM210,850 through 21 transactions to 11 bank accounts from May 30 to July 2,” he told in a statement.
According to Mukah OCPD deputy supt Muhamad Rizal, the man realized he had been defrauded after he was asked to make more payments, but the vehicle had not yet been delivered to him.
