Kia EV9 SUV Concept Revealed: Release Date, Price And Specs

Following the recent introduction of the Kia EV6, we are now eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Kia EV9.

Good news!

2023 Kia EV9 will begin production in April next year, after the model makes its public debut this September. With the striking and bold design this car will surely beat large SUVs like the Sorento and Santa Fe.

Needless to say, it appears unapologetically ‘solid’ from every angle. Its muscular haunches and blunt front end help it stand out more than any other Kia currently on the market; even the hot EV6!

What we like best about its design is how the carmaker avoids SUV's cliché-looking massive grilles. Instead, Kia chose to highlight its cool-looking trims and modern pixel-like daytime running lights up front.

Being an ev, the EV9 requires far fewer cooling vents than a gasoline or diesel-powered counterpart, giving it a very clean appearance. It also has retractable roof rails that can be hidden when not in use to reduce drag.

The EV9's rear profile is clean and modern, with flared arches, bold creases, and the obligatory set of massive alloy wheels on the side. The bonnet will also have a built-in solar panel that can generate electricity from sunlight.

This concept car features rear-hinged back doors that open to reveal a pillar-free design, allowing for easy access to the spacious interior.

Again, this is something that will almost certainly never make it into a production car. Shame…………

Stepping inside, the Kia EV9 appears to be eco-friendly with pack of sustainable materials used to build the interior of the car. The floor mats are made of recycled fishing nets and the seats from recycled water bottles.

The infotainment system and digital driver display are housed in a 27-inch ultra-wide display at the centre of this cabin. All the vehicle's functions, including the climate controls, are located here.

According to rumours, the EV9 will be built on the same platform as the EV6 and may share many of its electronic components.

If that’s the case, the Kia EV9 will have a 77.4kWh battery that should provide close to 300 miles of range.

The new Kia EV9 is currently only a concept for now, but a production version for Europe in 2023 has been confirmed.

As for the price, expect it to cost significantly more than a top-spec EV6.
