- Two Killed, Five Wounded In LA Car Show Shooting

Two persons were killed, and five others were hurt in a shooting incident during an informal car club event on Sunday afternoon in a Los Angeles park, Rueters reports.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that four men and three women, all of whom had gunshot wounds, were hospitalised. Later, two died, according to the authorities. The seven victims were between the ages of 23 and 54.
There were 500 people at the Peck Park, San Pedro at that time before one or more people opened fire shortly before 4 o'clock, the LAPD said on Twitter. However, nobody had been taken into custody by Sunday evening.
Due to the fact that the shooter has not yet been apprehended (as at press time), the Peck Park has been declared as a crime scene, and local law enforcement has issued a tactical alert for the entire city.
A Los Angeles resident named Lola Warren said in an interview that she had been watching a baseball game with players from Compton and other neighborhoods of the city near the park entrance before she heard gunfire.
“People had babies and kids. I even played dead at one point” – Lola Warren.
The car show was an informal gathering, rather than an officially scheduled event that was also reported to do not have a legal permit to take place.
It was part of Southern California car culture where owners of classic cars and low riders often gather in public places to show off their rides.
Although police offered no details of the shooting, they were able to quickly rule out classifying it as an active shooter situation, Officer Luis Garcia said, indicating officers did not see continued danger of a random mass shooting.
