- All-new 2023 Toyota Vios teased ahead of August 9 launch

The new 2023 Toyota Vios (sold as the Yaris ATIV in Thailand) B-segment sedan will be revealed next month!
Ahead fo which, Toyota Thailand have released the 15-second teaser video above. We get a brief look at the new Vios's exterior that features a striking new LED headlights and taillights, a larger and more prominent front grille design.

What is an open secret is the fact that this new Honda City and Nissan Almera rival will underpin the Daihatsu New Global Architecture Platform (DNGA). In other words, the new Vios will share similar bones as things like the recently launched Perodua Alza compact MPV and its SUV-like Toyota Veloz twin, as well as the Perodua Ativa compact crossover.

Through the teaser, we get a quick look of what appears to be larger quarter windows that likely indicate an increased cabin size too. Crucially, we also get a good look at the snazzy new and red-finished dashboard featuring a new freestanding touchscreen central infotainment unit that's akin to what seen in most Mazdas and the latest Civic.
As for powertrain, credible sources in Thailand indicate that Toyota will likely offer the choice between an upgraded version of the current Yaris Ativ's 1.2-litre 4-cyl mill, as well as a 1.5-litre hybrid to compete against the City e-HEV choice on top of which.
Should the new Vios enter the Malaysian market, it is expected to retain the existing 2NR-FE 1.5-litre 4-cyl mill seen in the current Vios that outputs 109 HP and 140 NM.
Apart from that and its new 'Move your world' tagline, there's little else to garner for now other than its confirmed unveiling date of August 9.
Stay tuned to CariCarz.com as we'll bring you more updates about the new Vios when it is launched next month!
