- Final BMW i3 deliveries commemorated with special gold paint
The final batch of BMW i3 compact EVs have been delivered in high style recently, all sporting a special gold paintwork scheme to commemorate said occasion.
This batch, which consists of 18 units, were delivered by BMW to lucky customers in a special ceremony held at the BMW Welt factory in Munich, Germany. All were treated with the same Galvanic Gold and black colour scheme specially prepared by the Bavarian automaker.
When BMW first began producing the i3 some eight and a half years ago, said EV - which also included a range-extender variant - had gone on to establish itself as a pioneer for emissions-free and sustainable mobility. It also offered a relatively good all-electric travel range of between 130KM and 246KM.
According to BMW, almost a quarter million units (250,000) have been sold across 74 countries throughout its production span. In 2021, BMW had discontinued the i3's production before the decision was officially announced globally this year.
Despite reaching its production’s end, the BMW i3 nameplate will continue to live on in China in the form of a battery-electric 3 Series sedan.
