First technical specifications of Lamborghini’s 2024 LMDh prototype car have been revealed by its Squadra Corse motorsport division.
Outstandingly, it will underpin a hybrid power unit consisting of an internal combustion V8 twin-turbo and an Energy Recovery System (ERS) with a combined output of max 500-KW (681 HP).
To begin with, the internal combustion 8-cylinder, 90-degree V-angle twin-turbo is the first of such racing engines fully developed by Squadra Corse.
As for the ERS, its major components included in the LMDh homologated standard Kit cover several areas, with the electric motor (MGU) developed by Bosch Motorsport.
Power management and energy storage are supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering, while the seven-speed P1359 hybrid gearbox is developed by Xtrac.
Then, its flexible chassis is engineered together with Ligier Automotive and its carbon fibre elements are produced in Italy by HP Composites.
In terms of the dimensions, it stands at a maximum width of 2,000 MM, a length of 5,100 MM, a wheelbase spanning 3,148 MM, and an engine weight of 180 KG minimum.

That said, Lamborghini’s LMDh protégé will make its competitive debut in 2024, in both the Hypercar class of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
