Almost every new car on the market today includes a slew of safety and driver-assist features as standard equipment. If you own or plan to buy a new or slightly used Honda, you've most likely heard the term "Honda Sensing"

But what exactly is Honda Sensing and how does it function?

Honda Sensing defines an exclusive intelligent suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to alert you of things you might miss while driving, as per Honda says.

Based on the research and development of Level 3 automated driving technologies, Honda 360 SENSING helps to avoid crashes with other vehicles and pedestrians with its omnidirectional sensing claims to eliminate blind spots around the vehicle.

Let’s look at the latest 2022 Honda Civic sedan and hatchback models which are quite popular among buyers due to its modern styling, comfortable interior, and powerful powertrain.

As a result, Honda took the time to ensure that the Honda Civic was equipped with cutting-edge driver assistance features such as Honda Sensing.

As a matter of fact, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. presented its latest initiatives in the areas of carbon neutrality, as well as information-communication and control technologies during the 28th Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress 2022 which was held today.

Among key technologies included in the Honda exhibition comprises Honda Drive Data Service which utilizes driving or vehicle behavior data and location information. From there the system analyzes and evaluates the traffic environment including locations where brakes are used frequently.

Honda Drive Data Service is intended to reduce the risk of traffic collisions by identifying potentially dangerous spots on the road that could lead to a collision and allowing the user to improve traffic infrastructure.

Then we have the Road Hazard Condition Monitoring System or ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system) cameras as the system could detect dangerous road conditions such as potholes and road construction.

For your info, the ITS World Congress is an international conference in which participants present and discuss advances in the research, development, and practical application of ITS technologies to address various traffic or transportation-related challenges.
