- New 2023 Maserati GranTurismo V6 shows off exterior
Italian sportscar marque Maserati officially released a new set of images showing off the complete exterior design of its upcoming new GranTurismo V6 model. This follows on from a recent and similar revelation of the electric-powered Folgore version.
Aptly, this combustion-flavoured iteration of Maserati’s next generation grand tourer doesn’t differ too much from its electrified twin - the dead giveaway being the presence of a tailpipe at the rear, and perhaps the raucously sweet soundtrack its powertrain promises.
As reported prior, Maserati will still offer its signature super GT offering with a combustion engine, albeit now downsized from a V8 to a V9 instead, the latter being its Nettuno unit as found in both the MC20 mid-engined sportscar and new Grecale ‘baby’ SUV offerings.
Despite this latest preview, Maserati didn’t specify how much power this twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre unit generates for the GranTurismo. However, as seen in both the Grecale and MC20, the mill can deliver at least 523 hp or as high as 621 hp respectively.
Besides its high horsepower output, the Nettuno mill also offers a sizable torque punch thanks to its twin-turbochargers. Again, like what we've seen in both the Grecale and MC20, the mill can deliver at least 620 Nm (Grecale) or as high as 729 Nm (MC20).
At the time of writing, Maserati also remains coy about when exactly it will launch its new generation GranTurismo, but all signs likely point towards sometime early next year. Given how things look, and how its electrified direction sounded, it all looks promising to say the least…
