- Previewed: 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ EV – 729 KM Range, Est. RM295,888
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) officially previewed the 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ with EQ Technology earlier today.

With local registration of interest (ROI) opened online back in Aug 2025, and a teaser of its arrival posted online last week, the new third-generation 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA compact four-door fastback has landed in Malaysia earlier today.
The model was previewed locally in all-electric (EV, chassis code: C174) CLA 250+ with EQ Technology guise by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM). Pre-bookings for this fully imported (CBU) model is now opened with an estimated price tag of RM295,888.
Pre-bookings are now opened with an estimated price of RM295,888, but there's a catch... Read details below. Otherwise, the model will launch fully in Q2 this year.

If you reckoned said figure has a catch, then you’d be right. Firstly, said estimate price is only valid for early bookings placed now ahead of the model’s planned launch, which MBM confirmed will take place sometime in the second quarter (Q2) of this year.
Secondly, the estimate price does not include new CBU EV import duties and full excise duties factored in. MBM expressed that they – like many others – are still seeking clarity on which from the government, and that the final retail price may or may not increase.
The powertrain brimmed in the CLA 250+ sees 0-100 km/h sprints despatched in just 6.7 secs, but the real headlining figure is its 792 KM WLTP-rated max range.

As detailed prior, the new third-gen CLA 250+ EV model packs a single rear-e-motor outputting 272 PS and 335 Nm to the rear wheels (RWD). Brimmed too is a two-speed transmission that helps boost range. All are also housed within an 800-volt platform base.
Juiced by a sizeable 85 kWh (nett) NMC-type battery pack, the setup promises to yield a WLTP-rated max range of up to 792 KM. Over on to charging and, besides the expected 11 kW AC charging cap, this electric four-door fastback can also draw in up to 320 kW of DC fast-charging inputs.
On top of 11 KW AC charging, the CLA 250+ EV also accepts DC fast-charging inputs as high as 320 kW.

Not only sleek, the new CLA 250+ EV is also practical thanks to its spacious cabin space matched by a sizeable 405-litre boot and 101-litre frunk. The fact that this new-gen CLA has a 61 MM longer wheelbase versus its combustion (ICE) powered predecessor adds to passenger comforts.
Other key styling touches brimmed include the exterior’s illuminated grille with interactive LED stats motif, full-width LED head- and taillights, flushed door handles, as well as its novel one-piece fixed glass roof.

The triple-screened MBUX Superscreen dominates the dash, and it brings AI-enhanced functions powered using ChatGPT and Microsoft Bing searches.

Moving on board, it’s the typical Mercedes-Benz affair for luxe, but the real draw here is the triple-screened MBUX Superscreen infotainment displays that brings AI-enhanced functions powered using ChatGPT and Microsoft Bing searches.
There’s indeed more to divulge from the CLA 250+ EV previewed today, but MBM notes the unit shown to us today was not the final Malaysian-spec car. In lieu of which, we’ll await for said final version for our market for a clearer picture.
Until then, as mentioned, pre-bookings are opened now, and the first of the three-point star marque’s “new generation” of EVs will launch officially later this year.
