As automotive brands continued deliveries to customers who booked during SST incentive period, PROTON estimated Total Industry Volume (TIV) for August is 66,900 units, 36.7% higher than July.
“With four months to go in 2022, PROTON production operations have stabilised. Critically, our component supply is now more consistent and better managed to ensure we can produce as many cars as possible.
With that in mind, we have undertaken an initiative to increase the number of delivery trucks by over 100% by the end of the year.
This makes it easier to ensure our dealers receive their stock as quickly as possible and in turn, this benefits our customers who have been patiently waiting for their vehicles,” commented Deputy Chief Executive Office PROTON, Roslan Abdullah.
Proton Saga benefited from improved component supply as well, with 6,156 units delivered last month which made the achievement ranked the latest B-Segment model as third most popular model in August pushing nearly 14,154 units of registrations since it debuted.

More than that, Proton Saga achieved its best export figure since March this year although both Proton Persona and Proton Iriz profited the most from the increase in production volume.

The newly launched 2023 Proton Exora maintained its lead in the C-segment MPV market with 266 units sold
According to a statement, Proton X50 topped other car brands in the SUV segment and remains unbeatable. With 4,329 units delivered in August, the Proton X50 crossed the 4,000-unit threshold for the third consecutive month.
The older sibling, Proton X70 maintained its position as the sales leader for C-segment SUVs with 1,555 units sold which took Proton's total SUV sales in August to 5,884 units.
Total sales of Proton SUVs now stand at 37,489 units for the first eight months of 2022.

More volume growth is expected later this year as Proton’s official relaunch in South Africa is scheduled to happen in September.
