Hyundai Recalls 130,000 Vehicles Due to Faulty Transmission
Hyundai Motor has recalled several models, including the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Elantra N, due to an oil pump problem. The recall, which was filed with the NHTSA, was made public this week.
As reported, eight models were recalled consisting of Santa Fe, Sonata, Veloster N, Kia K5, and Sorento 2021-2022 Elantra N, Kona N, and Santa Cruz models from 2022 have also been recalled.
In the United States alone, 53,142 Hyundais have been recalled, with an additional 8,719 in Canada. As previously stated, 69,038 Kias are also included in the recall. Sorentos account for 65,612 of them.
This brings the total number of recalled vehicles to 130,899 units. Fortunately, the NHTSA and Hyundai Motor Company believe that only 1% of vehicles may be affected by the flaw.
It should be noted that this problem only affects vehicles equipped with the group's 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
