Subscription, that seems to be the name of the game in this digital age when your vehicle's specification means nothing more than words on the printed brochure. Joining in this game is Mercedes-Benz Malaysia which kicks off by offering additional digital products for all its connected vehicles.

According to Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services at Mercedes-Benz Cars, Malaysia and SEA II, “Since its local debut in 2019, Mercedes me Connect has been providing convenient digitised experiences with tailor-made offerings as part of our commitment to further elevate driving experiences and comfort of our customers’ ownership journey.

He goes on to add, “As a global luxury brand, we are constantly looking for new and updated ways to enhance our offerings. And with the digitalisation of business and services, it is only natural for us to upgrade our services to offer convenient seamless digital experiences at our customer’s fingertips. Mercedes me connect is a close companion of Mercedes-Benz owners in Malaysia that makes everyday life easier. With close to 100% pairing rate on the Mercedes me Connect, we are confident that existing and future customers will see the value and appreciate the new digital experience.”

However, thankfully essential safety and maintenance services ranging from SOS, Roadside Assistance and Accident Management to retrieval of vehicle data would remain FREE indefinitely. The Mercedes me Connect store would basically allow users the option and power to further personalise their vehicles and service run times which would include other offerings in the digital service and innovative enhancement front in the near future.

Now, as users what do you think of these? As vehicles slowly become more digitised and connected, it seems it's turning into a mobile phone on wheels where you as the users are given the choice to opt in and pay for what you would like to use suiting your lifestyle. On the manufacturers end this would help streamline production with maybe lesser variants needed to be offered. Who knows the time would come when you can opt in and subscribe for even your power and torque options, wouldn't that be great. Now for the complete list of paid subscriptions available drop by www.mercedes-benz.com.my/me-store, this service is also available with Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned connected vehicles.
