Q would be proud, as three Aston Martin models managed to raise more than GBP 3,500,000 (MYR 18,130,721) in a charity auction to celebrate 60 years of the James Bond films.
Star lot of the night was an Aston Martin DB5 replica stunt car donated by Aston Martin Lagonda, which raised GBP 2,922,000 (MYR 15,189,1010).
This stunt car is one of eight exclusively built and engineered by Aston Martin for No Time To Die (2021), with each car uniquely modified for their individual role on screen.

The replica sold at Christie’s auction features operational gadgets including a rotating digital number plate, retractable headlights, pop-out machine guns and firing prop bomblets.
Fun fact, in the film, the DB5 was featured in a thrilling opening chase sequence, driven by James Bond (Daniel Craig) through Matera, Italy.

Outstandingly demonstrating its incredible dynamic capabilities, it was driven at high speed to shake off the pursuers before Bond deploys its hidden machine guns.
Notably, the proceeds of the DB5 auction will benefit The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund in support of charities assisting serving and former members of the UK Intelligence Agencies, and three charities supporting serving and former members of the UK Special Forces.

Next, the auction also saw the sale of a 1981 Aston Martin V8 donated by EON Productions, and it fetched GBP 630,000 (MYR 3,273,677).
It was also driven by James Bond in No Time To Die, and is similar to the model that was used in the 1987 Bond film, The Living Daylights.

An iconic model, the 1981 Aston Martin V8 was the fastest four-seat production car of its day and Britain’s first true ‘supercar’.
For this particular auction, the proceeds will benefit and support the work of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

Last but not least, the sale of an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera 007 Edition managed to get GBP 403,200 (MYR 2,088,302) to support the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales.
Interestingly, it is one of only 25 examples created by Aston Martin to celebrate the car’s inclusion in the film No Time To Die.

Unique, it features a plaque with etched signatures from producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and actor Lashana Lynch, who drove the same Aston Martin model as Nomi in the film.

Elsewhere, the auction also has 25 lots comprising vehicles, watches, costumes and props, many of which relate to the 25th Bond film, No Time To Die.
Additionally, an online sale with 35 lots spanning the 25 films, continues until James Bond Day on 5 October, the 60th anniversary of the world premiere of the first James Bond film Dr. No (1962).
Aston Martin’s executive vice president and chief creative officer, Marek Reichman, concluded, “Aston Martin is incredibly proud to be part of James Bond’s DNA and we are delighted to celebrate this 60th anniversary with the sale of truly unique Aston Martin models that we created for No Time To Die. It is fantastic that the sale will now hugely benefit several good causes which are close to our heart, playing our own part in the long-standing tradition of the James Bond franchise supporting charitable causes.”
