- Did Volvo teased an upcoming ‘EX60’?
Volvo unwrapped perhaps its smartest, safest and greenest model ever, the EX90, earlier this week. Though there's still a lot of fanfare surrounding this new flagship electric SUV of sorts, those who watched the live stream until the very end were rewarded with a teaser of what’s to come next.
Shown in this teaser is a smaller crossover alongside the EX90 that Volvo hints will debut in 2023, with many observers dubbing it as the ‘EX60’. Though only a few glimpses of the model were shown, it’s clear that it’s shorter than the EX90, perhaps suggesting it will be a two-row crossover.
Other details garnered from this small crossover’s teaser includes the slightly different taillights design sporting a more prominent C-shape graphics. We’ll also note that, despite it being teased with the all-electric EX90, there are no clear indications that the supposed ‘EX60’ will be all-electric either.

One interesting speculation is that this could be a new model that Volvo will use to employ a new sales and retail approach as mooted by its CEO Jim Rowan following the EX90’s launch. “Take a smaller SUV, which is more for city driving, maybe for first-time buyers. Gen Z - 18-, 19-year-olds - is our next market. We don’t talk to Gen Z right now, the brand has never really spoken to that younger demographic. We are absolutely heading in that direction,” said Rowan regarding this in an interview with UK title Top Gear.
Nevertheless, this teaser, whether it be a new electric crossover or not, is an exciting prospect to look forward to from the Swedish brand next year. Expect more details for this mysterious model to surface in the months leading up to its planned 2023 debut date which, at this point, remains unknown still.
