Flash Flood Strucks KL Area, Stay Alert!

If you live in the city and need to get home after work, you may be trapped in traffic for a while.

This happened after a flash flood damaged a number of highways in the city's center. Several sections in Kuala Lumpur's area have been hit by flash floods as a result of heavy rain since 3pm this afternoon.

According to the irrigation and drainage department, three rivers in Selangor experienced rising water levels. 

More than that, Sungai Langat had a water level of 3.41m, while Sungai Bernam had a reading of 27.12m, which was above the danger level. With a reading of 6.88m, Sungai Selangor in Jalan Rantau Panjang likewise exceeded the alert threshold, as DBKL shared on Twitter. 

Among the affected locations:

• Old Klang Road

• Jalan Syed Putra

• Palace Road

• Kinabalu Road

• Kuching Road

• Jalan Sg Besi

• Jalan Tun Razak.

• Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway

• Mahameru Highway

• Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2 Kuala Lumpur (MRR2)

• Jalan Parlimen

• Jalan Bangsar

• Jalan Maharajalela
