- The Turks’ New EV Brand, TOGG To Debut First Model In 2023
TOGG (Türkiye'nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu), a new Turkish-based automaker has entered the electric arena, ensuing the opening of its EV production factory.
The factory is said to be capable of producing around 100,000 units of vehicles every year, but for the first year, it is expected to produce only 17,000 to 18,000 units.
By 2025, all the vehicles to be assembled by TOGG are expected to use 65% local components, compared to the previous target of 51%.
According to TOGG, the first model to go on sale by Q1 of 2023 will be a C-segment electric SUV, though its official name is yet to be disclosed.
Suggestively, it will be featured with a single electric motor or twin electric motor option, and two battery pack capacity options with a maximum range of 300 or 500 Km.
Overall, by 2030, TOGG aims to produce 1 million vehicles for all five segments, with four more models projected to follow.
Namely, they range from a C-segment sedan, C-segment hatchback, B-segment SUV, and B-segment MPV.
